Lola Bea’s Newborn Session — NYC Newborn Photographer, Flatiron Studio

Lola Bea’s newborn photography NYC session is one I will not forget anytime soon. She came into my Flatiron studio just days old, already with a full head of dark hair and the tiniest little fists you have ever seen. And that smile — she gave us one of those sleepy newborn grins that you just cannot plan for, and it absolutely made the whole session.

Her parents were so warm and easy to be around, the kind of people who make you forget you are working. It was a really good day.

The Wedding Veil — The Most Personal Touch

One of my absolute favorite things about Lola Bea’s session is something her mom brought from home — her wedding veil. We wrapped it around this tiny new baby girl, and the result was one of the most breathtaking newborn images I have ever created. There is something so deeply moving about a mother’s wedding veil becoming part of her daughter’s very first portraits. It ties three of the biggest days of a woman’s life together in one single image — her wedding day, her baby’s birth, and the quiet, tender days that follow.

If you have something meaningful you would like to incorporate into your newborn session — a heirloom, a piece of clothing, something sentimental — please bring it. These are exactly the details that make a session truly yours.

The Details That Take Your Breath Away

There is a reason I always photograph the tiny details during a NYC newborn photography session — the fingers, the fists, the little feet — because these are the things that change the fastest. Lola Bea had the most perfect little hands, and I knew we had to stop and just document them exactly as they were in those first days.

Mom and Dad — The Sweetest First Time Parents

I say this often but these two were genuinely something special. Watching dad lean in nose to nose with mom over their sleeping baby girl — and mom holding Lola so close with that look on her face — these are the images that will live on their walls for decades. They were relaxed, present, and so completely wrapped up in their new little girl. It made my job the easiest thing in the world.
