New York Newborn Photographer: An In-Home Sister Session

As a New York newborn photographer, some of my favorite sessions happen right at home — and this one, with a new baby girl and her two big sisters, is a perfect example. A soft pink nursery, heirloom clothing, and personalized details in every frame: this is why I love documenting families in the spaces where their story is unfolding.

Two Big Sisters, One New Baby

This house was already full of pink bows before the baby arrived. Her two big sisters took their new roles seriously — holding her hands through the crib rails, cradling her in their laps, and keeping her close in every frame. These sibling portraits are the ones this family will return to for decades: three girls, all in a row, right at the very beginning.

Why Book an In-Home Session with a New York Newborn Photographer

In-home newborn sessions are all about your family’s real life — the nursery you spent months preparing, the chair where you’ll spend those early morning feeds, the light through your own windows. For this session, the nursery did so much of the work: a crystal chandelier, pale pink drapery, a personalized scalloped pillow, and a monogrammed gingham bow blanket. I bring the posing, styling guidance, and light; your home brings the meaning.

Heirloom Dresses From Feltman Brothers

Both big sisters wore smocked dresses in the palest pink from Feltman Brothers, with the baby in a classic white pin-tucked dress and matching bonnet. Heirloom clothing photographs beautifully — the smocking, lace trim, and delicate rosebud embroidery add texture without ever competing with faces. If you have pieces like these in your family, an in-home newborn session is the time to bring them out. And if you don’t, I’m always happy to help you source outfits or pull coordinating pieces from the studio closet.

Every Stage of the Session

We moved through the home naturally — sister portraits on a white bed, the baby’s solo portraits in her crib, quiet moments with mom in the nursery chair, and portraits with dad under the chandelier. We finished with a full family portrait, everyone gathered together on the bed. Nothing rushed, everything documented.
