NYC Newborn Photographer | Henry’s Newborn Session

As an NYC newborn photographer, some sessions just stop you in your tracks — and Henry’s was one of them.

He came into my Flatiron studio just days old, and from the moment his family walked through the door I knew this was going to be something special. Strawberry-blonde wisps, the rosiest little cheeks, and those wide blue eyes that made everyone in the room stop and just breathe for a second. You know the feeling.

Meet Henry — NYC Newborn Photographer, Flatiron Studio

Awake AND Sleepy — The Best of Both Worlds for Newborn Photography

One of my favorite things about Henry’s session is that we got such a gorgeous mix of awake and sleepy moments — and honestly, that is not always easy with a newborn! When they cooperate like that, it is pure gold. The sleepy shots have that soft, still, dreamy quality that I absolutely love. And then those awake images — Henry looking right into the camera like he already had a whole personality — are just everything.

First Time Parents Who Were Absolute Naturals

His parents were incredible, too. First-time parents often come in a little nervous, wondering if they are doing it right. These two? You would never have known it was their first time. They were calm, loving, and so completely present with their boy. Watching dad hold Henry on his arm with that massive proud smile, or mom tucking him close against her cheek — those are the moments I live for as an NYC newborn photographer.

We kept the whole session clean and airy — all whites and creams in my Flatiron studio, nothing to compete with what was really happening in those images. Just a brand new family, soaking in the very first days.

A little note on studio vs. in-home newborn sessions

Henry’s family came into my Flatiron studio, and I love what a studio setting does for newborn portraits — that clean, timeless, all-white look that never dates. But I also travel beyond NYC for lifestyle newborn sessions in your home, and there is something incredibly special about capturing a baby in the very first space they came home to. Both are beautiful in completely different ways. Not sure which is right for you? Let’s chat — I am happy to help you figure out what fits your family best.
